Morgan Geekie is The Peterson School’s Hardest Working Player of the Week
Opportunity is everything.
It’s also the number one reason why the versatile Morgan Geekie decided to join the Bruins as a free agent last July after a breakout 2022-23 campaign on Seattle’s fourth line. And Geekie has absolutely made the most of that opportunity, headlined by a week that was enough to earn Geekie a nod as The Peterson School’s Hardest Working Player of the Week.
In what was a three-game week for the Bruins, the highlight of Geekie’s week came with his first career hat trick scored in what was a 5-4 victory over the defending Stanley Cup champion Golden Knights at TD Garden.

And though Geekie was unable to ride that high into Saturday’s head-to-head with the Islanders, it was worth noting that Geekie was deemed the best ‘next man up’ for Jim Montgomery’s club following an in-game injury to Pavel Zacha. Geekie tried to make the most of that in what was a near no-show from Boston, who scored one goal in the losing effort, with three hits and five faceoff victories in over 16 minutes of time on ice.
But when the Bruins got back on track Monday night in Toronto, it was the 6-foot-3 Geekie who got things started for the Bruins, as he drove to the front of the net and banged home a puck for the Black and Gold’s first goal of the evening.

Geekie had already established a career-high in goals prior to his four-goal week for the Bruins (he’s up to 14 goals after scoring nine last year), but his big week established a new career-high in points, with 31 points through 57 games after scoring a career-high 28 points in 68 games for the Kraken last season.
