Brown's call-up comes as Bruins forward Jake DeBrusk is dealing with a fresh injury. The nature of DeBrusk's issue was not disclosed by head coach Jim Montgomery, who confirmed before the game that DeBrusk, Matthew Poitras, and defenseman Derek Forbort were all out due to injury. Montgomery described DeBrusk and Poitras as "banged up."
Brown, Jakub Lauko, and Kevin Shatternkirk subbed in for the three injured players on Saturday.

HIGHLIGHTS: Bruins get back in win column in Ottawa
An overtime goal from Bruins captain Brad Marchand helped Boston dodge potential disaster Thursday night in Ottawa, as the Bruins overcame blowing a two-goal lead with a 3-2 overtime final over the Senators.
The win also helped the Bruins avoid a losing streak following Wednesday's loss to the Hurricanes at TD Garden.
In what was one of their slowest starts of the year — though some obvious (and questionable) penalty trouble didn't help — the Bruins went over 17 minutes without a shot on goal during the first period of Thursday's head-to-head with Ottawa. But they did make their best chance of the frame count, with a David Pastrnak blast through the Senators' Joonas Korpisalo on Boston's first power-play shot of the evening.
And in the second period, the Bruins doubled their lead by way of a top-shelf snipe from Trent Frederic.
Frederic's goal was his 14th of the season, and has put him within three goals of matching last year's career-high of 17, and with 34 games to go on the 2023-24 season.

In goal, meanwhile, Jeremy Swayman finished with a 35-of-37 line in the Boston crease for the win.
Swayman finished with a perfect 29-for-29 mark on even-strength shots faced, but allowed two goals on eight shots thrown his way by the Ottawa power play, with goals from Thomas Chabot and Vladimir Tarasenko.
The B's will return to action Saturday afternoon in Philadelphia, with puck drop set for a little after 12:30 p.m.
