Bruins lose yet another player to COVID list
Just over an hour after losing Craig Smith to the league’s COVID protocols, yet another Bruins player has landed in the NHL COVID protocol, with the team confirming Brad Marchand’s addition to the list.
The move to the protocols for Smith and Marchand comes with the Flames, who hosted the Bruins last Saturday night in Calgary, going through an outbreak that’s now hit nine of their players with positive COVID tests over the last two days.
This could be the start of an actual outbreak within the B’s room beyond the obvious of two players landing on the list, too, as Marchand participated in the Black and Gold’s morning skate at Warrior Ice Arena.
Marchand, who returned from a three-game suspension last week, has been the team’s most productive skater this season, with 11 goals and 27 points in 21 games this season.
The Bruins, as of right now, are still scheduled to play the Golden Knights at TD Garden tonight.
