National Robert Day is April 6th. There are tons of famous Roberts. Robert De Niro, Robert Redford, Robert Downey Jr, Robert Pattinson to name a few. Most Roberts go by “Bob.” It’s not Robert Seger, Robert Marley, or Robert Dylan… They are Bobs. In the name of keeping it casual, I give you items to celebrate the BOBS of the world.
We actually have another meaning for BOB at my house. Don’t be mad, Bob. It’s nothing personal. At my house, we refer to people who are not handling their business and expect others to help as a “B.O.B.” Big Old Baby. That family member who could do something for themselves but instead expects YOU to do it for them because… that’s easier. SHHHH! Don’t tell anyone about the B.O.B. Let’s keep that between us.
I have a caller named “Canada Bob.” He started calling me during Covid. He was alone in his apartment, the country literally shut down, and he reached out to hear a song. Two years later, I still hear from Bob a few times a week. He is a bit crazy, very funny, and as nice a person as one could hope to meet. He is one of my favorite Bobs, eh.
