Reminder that David Pastrnak is just about the best damn goal scorer in the National Hockey League.

His latest pure, unadulterated FILTH came on Thursday night in Seattle, when Pastrnak completely undressed Kraken defenseman Adam Larsson then beat goaltender Philipp Grubauer for his 42nd goal of the season. Watch below as Pastrnak pivots to fake Larsson toward the inside, then dangles around the other way to instantly go from covered to uncovered. Finally, he goes top-shelf on Grubauer for the finish.

Just look at this thing:

  • This video from the Bruins’ Twitter page provided a rinkside view of every goal in a wild 6-5 win over Seattle. The Pastrnak goal begins at the 10-second mark:

  • Pastrnak is now on pace to play all 82 games for the second time in his career. He’s on track to score 60 goals, which would be a career-high. However, he STILL remains four goals behind Edmonton’s Connor McDavid for the league lead in the race to win the Maurice “Rocket” Richard Trophy.

McDavid has 46 goals in 59 games. He’s on pace for 64 tallies. He has four goals in his last two games. Just when Pastrnak was about to catch up to him. Oh and he also had one of the best goals you’ll see all season the other night:

  • Pastrnak’s season has been something to behold and will most certainly result in a big-money contract after this season. Ideally, for Boston, the richest contract in Bruins history. But he’s no McDavid, and that’s not an insult because no one is. If both guys stay healthy, it’s still going to be a challenge for Pastrnak to actually outscore the Oilers’ generational superstar.

But “Pasta” is still pretty friggin’ fun to watch, anyway. So enjoy these goals while they’re coming.
