In a week full of news and happenings, the National Hockey League has decided to throw a regular season schedule into the mix, with the 82-game schedule for the 2023-24 released for all of the league’s 32 teams Tuesday.
But for the Bruins, who will celebrating their centennial season in 2023-24, this schedule release will be full of bells and whistles celebrating the oldest American franchise in league history.
Headlined by what the team is calling ‘Era Nights’, the Bruins’ home slate will feature countless tributes to eras of Bruins hockey. The Era Nights will begin on October 28 against the Detroit Red Wings, honoring “The Early Years” from 1924-1959. On November 18, the Bruins will celebrate the 1960-1976 “Big Bad Bruins” when hosting the Montreal Canadiens at TD Garden. The 1977-1985 “Lunch Pail A.C.” Era Night will be on December 16 against the New York Rangers, and the 1986-2000 “New Blood, New Beginnings” Era Night will take place on January 20 against Montreal. Era Nights will conclude on March 7 against the Toronto Maple Leafs, when the “Return of a Champion” era (2001-present) is celebrated.
Beyond the nods to the illustrious history of the franchise, the Bruins also won’t have to wait long for a reunion with the freshly-traded Taylor Hall and Nick Foligno, as they’ll begin their campaign with a home opener against the Blackhawks on Oct. 11.
Here’s the complete schedule for next year’s B’s squad, with all game times listed in the local time of the timezone of where the game is being played…
