The Boston Bruins have come out with some great mic’d up moments in the past week, thanks in part to the guy you’d expect to put on a show with his lip: Brad Marchand.

Watch below to see Marchand get crispy with the Penguins’ Jake Guentzel after the latter took a little cheap shot at Brandon Carlo during the Winter Classic, from the newest episode of “Behind the B” released earlier this week. “What the f**k are you gonna do? Touch him again!” he dared. Marchand later got to the faceoff and told Bryan Rust on Guentzel: “I was actually gonna let him sleep tonight, ’til he did that.”

Next, Marchand chirps at someone on the Penguins, ostensibly defenseman Jan Rutta: “No one f***in’ wanted you! You’re awful!” That seems mean. But that’s some God-tier trash talk, if your goal is to get inside the other guy’s head. Rutta went undrafted and signed with the Pens in the off-season, so a comment like that could cut deep.

  • The other mic’d-up Bruins moment was unintentional, but arguably even funnier than Marchand in the Winter Classic. This time it was Nick Foligno after the Bruins forward got called for roughing against the Flyers. Apparently, Foligno thought was a soft call, and was annoyed that he didn’t get his money’s worth:

You’re telling me I should just go f***in’ pound his face in?”

  • Good job, Nick. Thatta boy. Don’t take no shit off no one.

Hockey could use more clips like this, if anything. In today’s world, Marchand and Foligno’s potty-mouths might be too EXTREME! for the general audience. Freakin’ puritans, the lot of ’em. But the players themselves can handle it, so why couldn’t the average adult hockey fan?

For now, we’ll just have to appreciate hot mics like the Foligno one when we get them. And Marchand will always be good for some shit-talking, when the league dares to put a lapel on him.
