You’ll find plenty of options, including outdoor water parks and indoor water park resorts, whether you want to avoid the cold winter temperatures, cool off in the summer, or just get away with the kids.

  • Water Country (Portsmouth, New Hampshire)

    Water Country prides itself on being the largest water park in New England. Located in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, just over the Massachusetts state line, Water Country has been around for over three decades of water slide fun.

  • Hurricane Harbor at Six Flags New England (Agawam, Massachusetts)

    If you’re headed to Six Flags New England, your admission to their Hurricane Harbor water park is included in your pass to the park! With over a dozen attractions, from a water coaster to high speed body slides, two wave pools, and a lazy river, Hurricane Harbor is a great place to cool down if you’re in Western Massachusetts.

  • Great Wolf Lodge (Fitchburg, Massachusetts)

    Billed as more of a family resort catered to kids, Great Wolf Lodge in Fitchburg, Massachusetts prides itself on being a year-round water park. Which in New England is a definite bonus, seeing as we only get around 3 months of outdoor water park weather. Don’t be fooled though, there are certainly some slides that will thrill the adults too!

  • Water Park of New England (Danvers, Massachusetts)

    Water Park of New England is another indoor, year-round water park. Located just north of Boston in Danvers, Massachusetts, the park boasts 65,000 square feet of attractions, including water slides and a lazy river pool.

  • Cape Codder Water Park (Hyannis, Massachusetts)

    Part of the Cape Codder Resort, the Cape Codder Water Park is the only indoor/outdoor water park on the Cape. Boasting 30,000 square feet of attractions that include high speed slides, a “stormy” river, and a pirate themed kids area, the Hyannis based water park is a great choice for families headed down the Cape, in any weather.

  • Water Wizz of Cape Cod (Wareham, Massachusetts)

    For 40 years, Water Wizz of Cape Cod has been providing summertime fun just off Cape Cod in Wareham, Massachusetts. Chock full of water slides, lazy rivers, and wave pools, Water Wizz also has the longest tube ride in Southern New England.

  • Funtown Splashdown (Saco, Maine)

    For more than 20 years, Splashtown USA at Funtown has been cooling off residents and visitors to Saco, Maine. With Mount Olympus water slides, the Mammoth & Tornado slides, a family “lagoon” area and more, Splashtown is a great option if you’re vacationing up in the mountains this summer.

  • Whale’s Tale (Lincoln, New Hampshire)

    For almost four decades, Whale’s Tale has been one of the premier water parks in Northern New England. Located on 17 acres in the White Mountains of New Hampshire, Whale’s Tale boasts 11 attractions including Akua Beach, the Banzai Pipeline, and the kid-friendly Beluga Boggin.

  • Castaway Island at Canobie Lake Park (Salem, New Hampshire)

    Included with admission to Canobie Lake Park, Castaway Island is just over the Massachusetts state line in Salem, New Hampshire. Featuring a “tidal river” which is described as a lazy river with waves, three water slides off a 60-foot tower, and a “Lil’ Squirts Lagoon” for small children, Castaway Island is a great day trip to cool off on a hot summer day.

  • Splash Away Bay at Quassy Amusement Park (Middlebury, Connecticut)

    Not really a day trip from the Boston area, but if your summer travels find you staying out toward New Haven, Splash Away Bay is a solid choice for water park fun in Western Connecticut. Featuring “dozens of ways to get drenched,” the park prides itself of gigantic and extreme waterslides, as well as a splash pad for young children. You can even buy a dual pass to enjoy both the water park and the amusement park.

  • Pump House Indoor Water Park at Jay Peak (Jay, Vermont)

    Vermont has only one indoor waterpark, and the Pump House at the Jay Peak resort is it. So you can visit during ski season too! Open for just over a decade now, the 50,000 square foot water park includes slides, a lazy river, kids play area, and more.
