A Bed for Every Child

Although a bed is probably not the first thing you think of when thinking of childhood poverty, the reality is, a bed is financially out of reach for parents who are struggling. Tonight, as you drift off to sleep, there are many, many children in Massachusetts who are without a bed of their own. A child should never feel the effects of their household’s income, especially when it comes to basic and necessary needs for their well- being. Aside from providing the essential sleep their body needs for growth and development, a bed brings a child comfort, safety and normalcy – things a child cannot feel when sleeping on the floor, the couch or doubled up with a sibling. Every child has the right to be tucked into a bed of their very own tonight to dream big dreams and wake up ready to change the world.
