Bruins goaltender Linus Ullmark seemed close to sitting out Game 3 against the Florida Panthers on Friday night. Instead, not only did he play, but he stopped 29 of 31 shots in a convincing 4-2 win.
The B’s made life relatively easy on Ullmark, putting forth their best defensive effort of the series so far. They led 4-0 at one point and allowed just 12 shots on goal through the first two periods. But it was encouraging that Ullmark was able to play after being a game-time decision, and that he made 17 third-period saves as the Panthers made a strong final push.
If Ullmark is concerned at all about his health situation, he’s putting on a good poker face.
