Bruins give latest update on Brad Marchand ahead of Game 6
The latest Brad Marchand update is going to make Boston Bruins fans wait with bated breath.
Bruins head coach Jim Montgomery told reporters after morning skate on Friday that Marchand is a game-time decision for Game 6 against the Florida Panthers, which takes place at 7 p.m. ET at TD Garden. Marchand has been working his way back from an upper body injury suffered in Game 3 of their best-of-seven series.
According to WBZ-TV’s Dan Roche, Montgomery also said there are additional steps for Marchand to take before he can officially take the ice for Game 6. Marchand has been on the ice with the team for practice over the past two days, participating in drills as if he’s a go for Friday night.
At this point, it would be something of a surprise if Marchand is not cleared to play for Game 6. His participation level in practice is a strong-enough indicator.
Marchand also might not have been able to speak to the media after practice on Thursday if he weren’t expected to be able to play. The Bruins captain made headlines for his surprisingly candid comments about the nature of playoff hockey and the physical play that comes along with it.
