Bruins expected to make at least one lineup change for Game 2
Looking for his first 2-0 series lead since coming to Boston, Bruins head coach Jim Montgomery will make at least one change to the lineup that captured a Game 1 victory over the Panthers.
That change will come up front, too, with Jesper Boqvist expected to draw back into action.
And when it came to Game 1, Boqvist’s absence wasn’t about the opposition’s lineup or any struggles the Bruins saw within Boqvist’s game at the end of the Toronto series, but rather an injury that lingered following the Black and Gold’s Game 7 victory over the Maple Leafs last Saturday.
“Yeah, it was health related,” Montgomery confirmed when discussing Boqvist’s Game 1 absence. “He was nursing some things. But he’s good to go tonight.”

With Boqvist given the go-ahead, the Bruins will ice a familiar fourth line, with Boqvist expected to shift between wing and center with Johnny Beecher, while Pat Maroon serves as the line’s muscle.
Together for almost 32 minutes of five-on-five time on ice over six games, the Beecher-Boqvist-Maroon combo has generated 12 scoring chances and six high-danger scoring chances when on the ice, and kicked off Boston’s scoring this postseason with Beecher’s Game 1 goal on Ilya Samsonov.

Based on the morning skate, the move to put Boqvist back in is expected to come with Patrick Brown taken out of the lineup, and through not fault of his own really. Deployed for 8:27 in the Game 1 win, the 31-year-old Brown racked up a team-leading nine hits and won five of his seven battles at the dot.
Speaking after Game 1, Montgomery had high praise for Brown’s ability to play an ‘identity’ game.
Elsewhere in the lineup, Derek Forbort looks set to stay in the B’s lineup after finishing Monday’s Game 1 win a plus-2 rating and defense-high six hits in 18:03 of play.
The Bruins are also leaving their goaltending situation alone, it would appear, with Jeremy Swayman expected to get the call in the Boston net after stopping 38 of 39 in Monday’s victory.
