NHL announces full schedule for Bruins-Panthers series
For the second year in a row, and for just the third in NHL history, it will be the Boston Bruins and Florida Panthers going head-to-head in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
But the stakes are even higher this time around, as the Bruins and Cats will meet in the second round for the first time over that three-series showdown, and on the heels of last year’s first-round war.
The Panthers come into this series as the Atlantic’s top dog, and after dispatching the Tampa Bay Lightning in five games. Florida outscored the Lightning 20-14 over that five-game series victory, and are looking to build off last year’s run, which saw them go all the way to the Stanley Cup Final before falling to Bruce Cassidy and the Vegas Golden Knights.
The Bruins, meanwhile, come into what will be their first trip to the second round since 2021 after defeating the Maple Leafs with a thrilling Game 7 overtime win last Saturday at TD Garden.
And with the final eight now set following Sunday’s Game 7 between the Golden Knights and Dallas Stars (won by Dallas), the NHL has revealed the (almost) full details of the Boston-Florida series.
The schedule goes as follows…
Game 1: Monday, May 6 (8 p.m.) in Sunrise. TV: ESPN
Game 2: Wednesday, May 8 (7:30 p.m.) in Sunrise. TV: ESPN
Game 3: Friday, May 10 (7 p.m.) in Boston. TV: TNT
Game 4: Sunday, May 12 (TBD) in Boston. TV: TBS
Game 5: Tuesday, May 14 (TBD) in Sunrise (if necessary).
Game 6: Friday, May 17 (TBD) in Boston (if necessary).
Game 7: Sunday, May 19 (TBD) in Sunrise (if necessary).
