Bruins make roster move ahead of series vs. Panthers
A quick turnaround for the Bruins has led to an emergency recall for the club, with forward Patrick Brown summoned up from AHL Providence ahead of Monday’s Game 1 meeting with the Panthers.
Skating for the P-Bruins for the majority of his campaign, the right-shooting Brown returns to the NHL with 11 goals and 32 points in 42 games for Providence this season. Brown had also recorded one goal and three points through two 2024 Calder Cup Playoff games at the time of his NHL recall.
In action for 11 games with Boston this season, the veteran Brown recorded one assist, along with 25 hits and three blocked shots, and averaged 8:50 of time on ice per night at the NHL level. The 31-year-old Brown has not appeared in an NHL game for the Bruins since Jan. 27 against Philadelphia.
It’s currently unclear as to why Brown was called up for the start of this series, be it because of another injury to the club (the Bruins are currently without Danton Heinen) or simply because the Bruins want another practice body should the situation call for it with the club more than a drive away from Boston.
Game 1 is set for Monday at 8 p.m. down in Sunrise.
