Bruins goalie Jeremy Swayman really, really loves TD Garden
There’s something in the dirty water for Bruins goaltender Jeremy Swayman.
In net for his seventh career start on TD Garden ice, the 22-year-old Swayman remained perfect, with stops on 25 of the 27 shots thrown his way by the Senators for his seventh win in as many tries in Boston. It’s been more than just victories, too, as Swayman has posted a .947 save percentage and 1.13 goals against average over that home-ice run. And in case the numbers weren’t staggering enough, Swayman has yet to surrender more than two goals in any of those starts at TD Garden.
So, what is it? A pregame slice at Ernesto’s? That Dunks near the Garden? No, not that one. The other one. Or maybe that insane, years-erasing donut cheese burger from the level four concourse?
There’s gotta be some sort of superstition at play here, right?
“I love playing at home,” a smiling Swayman said following Tuesday’s victory over Ottawa. “It’s the best arena in the NHL. It’s the best atmosphere you can ask for, so it’s fun coming home and winning in front of these fans.”
The Bruins will take plenty more of that, really, as Tuesday’s win improved the Black and Gold to 5-0-0 on Garden ice out of the gate this year, which is their best start at home in over 30 years.
