Boston Bruins

Matt & Ty are back with a full hour on Boston sports. It’s mostly Bruins talk, as the Sports Hub’s resident hockey nerds do a quick recap of the Bruins’ loss to the Lightning. But the bulk of the conversation centers around an uncertain future for the B’s. Is the “window” still open for Cup contention with their younger core, and do they simply need to retool around the margins to be better built to win in the playoffs? (3:58) If Zdeno Chara and the Bruins decide to re-up for another year, would they be better suited putting him in a reduced role? (16:32) What’s going to happen in net if the team decides to move on from Tuukka Rask? Can they move on from Rask at all? (23:23)

Jake DeBrusk could be a sneaky-big piece to the puzzle in the offseason. Are the Bruins going to give him a bridge deal like they’ve done with other RFAs, or would they be able to swing a trade to make an upgrade at his spot? (33:15) With all the questions up and down the roster, this offseason is as big for Don Sweeney as it is for anyone. (40:21) Torey Krug is set to become a free agent, but would the Bruins be better off replacing him with a different kind of defenseman? Is he worth what he’s going to get paid on the open market? (46:16) Matt & Ty have some thoughts on hockey in the “bubble,” and whether it’s viable to do next season if necessary. (52:50)
