Bruins to open Eastern Conference Finals on Thursday

There will be little rest for the Boston Bruins after punching their ticket to the Eastern Conference Finals with a series win Monday night against the Columbus Blue Jackets.
The Black and Gold will open up their series with the Carolina Hurricanes Thursday at 8 p.m. at the Garden, the NHL announced Tuesday.
The rest of the schedule has yet to be determined and will be announced at a later time, according to the league. Theoretically, Game 2 in Boston would either be played Saturday or Sunday.
The NHL is likely waiting on some clarity with the Western Conference playoff picture before determining the remaining dates for the Bruins and Hurricanes. Both the Sharks-Avalanche and Stars-Blues series have been extended to seven games, and there are a number of arena conflicts in those cities this upcoming weekend the NHL will have to work around when constructing the schedule.
