Boston Bruins

The Boston Bruins are looking a new anthem singer for the 2018-19 season, the team announced in a press release Wednesday.

The search comes with Rene Rancourt, a Garden legend and fist-pump extraordinaire, officially announcing his retirement after 42 years as the arena’s signature anthem singer.

Candidates will be required to submit a link or video to a previous singing performance of the national anthem. The deadline to apply is Wednesday, August 1 at 5:00 p.m, and those interested can apply by visiting BostonBruins.com/anthem.

Select performers will then be invited to audition live at TD Garden on August 8 starting at 5:30 p.m. Applicants will be judged on vocal quality, stage presence and level of comfort.

After live auditions, select performers will be placed into a pool of candidates to sing the national anthem throughout the 2018-19 season.
