It’s going to be a showdown for Mike Vrabel
The Patriots moves swiftly moving on from Jerod Mayo an after after the win over Buffalo on Sunday. Robert Kraft mentioned that they will work quick during their hiring process for their next head coach. The favorite to land the job is Mike Vrabel, who has interviewed already with the Jets and Bears. He is reportedly interviewing with the Patriots on Thursday for the head coaching job. The team did interview two minority candidates on Tuesday in Pep Hamilton and Byron Leftwich satisfying the Rooney Rule.
Shortly after it was announced Vrabel will interview with New England, the Vegas Raiders announced that they are moving on from Antonio Pierce. Tom Brady will have a lot of influence over who the Raiders choose as their next head coach. Things look like they are going well for the Patriots to land Vrabel but Brady could influence his decision. One advantage the Patriots have is Drake Maye while the Raiders may dip into the draft this year for a quarterback after season from Gardner Minshew and Aiden O’Connell weren’t successful. Maybe another team becomes available like the Dallas Cowboys. The former linebacker has plenty of options, not just New England.
The betting odds at Bovada have Mike Vrabel listed as the favorite to land the Raiders job. Yesterday Betonline had him as the favorite to land in New England. Either way it’s going to be a showdown between Robert Kraft and Tom Brady. Vegas has gone from Jon Gruden to Josh McDaniel’s to Pierce. They can get their coach and quarterback of the future.
