Chris Unger/Getty ImagesOn the Toucher & Hardy radio program, Andrew Callahan from the Boston Herald addressed several key issues concerning the New England Patriots. Fred Toucher asked if the 49ers were serious about acquiring a Patriots player, but Callahan dismissed the idea that the Patriots would trade a first-round pick next year, especially considering their current rebuilding phase.

Callahan also touched on the contract situation with Judon. The Patriots and Judon are in a bit of a holding pattern. Judon, being an edge rusher over 30, wants to be paid like one of the best players in the league. While the Patriots value him, they are cautious about a long-term commitment. Despite the current tension, Callahan believes they will eventually find a middle ground.
Wallach brought up the strategy of acquiring a top wide receiver while a quarterback is on a rookie contract. Callahan agreed, noting that it’s tough to find a #1 receiver since top talents are usually retained and paid well by their teams. He suggested that the Patriots might either draft a receiver or trade for one in the future, aligning with their timeline for developing quarterback Drake Maye. The discussion highlighted the Patriots' need to balance immediate needs with their long-term rebuilding goals.

Teams that have won consecutive championships since 2000
When each team starts a new season they all have the same goal in common....to win a championship. For most that goal doesn't get achieved but for one team the goal does get achieved. Some teams have been built so well that they win championships in consecutive seasons. Below is a list of teams in the National Football League (NFL), National Basketball Association (NBA), Major League Baseball (MLB), and National Hockey League (NHL), the four major sports in America, that have won championships in consecutive seasons since 2000.

The Boston Celtics won their 18th NBA Championship in 2024. The Celtics won the NBA Finals in five games over the Dallas Mavericks to win their 18th title and break a tie with the Minneapolis/Los Angeles Lakers for most NBA titles.
The Texas Rangers won their first World Series title in 2023. The Rangers took down the Arizona Diamondbacks in five games to claim their first fall classic victory.
