This morning on Toucher & Hardy, Albert Breer from the MMQB talked about how Drake Maye shares similarities with Philip Rivers, highlighting their competitive personalities and the need for ambitious quarterback selections, especially considering the strong competition in the conference with top quarterbacks like Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen.

FRED TOUCHER: Did you say Drake Maye reminds you of Philip Rivers in his personality?
ALBERT BREER: Yeah, his personality. Yeah, okay, yeah.
FRED TOUCHER: I thought that was interesting. Well, that'd be great if he was Philip Rivers. I mean, hopefully he wins a little bit more, but that would be awesome. Ideally.
ALBERT BREER: I want a bunch like, you know, the Super Bowl though. Didn't win a Super Bowl, but...
FRED TOUCHER: And he sucked with Indianapolis, I would say.
ALBERT BREER: Say like, I would say like if you looked at the result of most of these, when you come off a legendary quarterback like what Miami had after Dan Marino, what Buffalo had after Jim Kelly, what Denver had after John Elway. If you wind up with Philip Rivers four years after Tom Brady, like that's not a bad result.
FRED TOUCHER: He seems like you like him, like you think he's got a good personality?
ALBERT BREER: I think it's like, well, you have this competitive personality with him. And I think like it really matters to him, which is an important part of playing quarterback. Of course, not that it did matter to Mac while he was here. I also think, like with this one, guys like you had to swing for the fences and I, I've said this a few times to you, but like it. You aren't going to get to just having a good enough quarterback. And in a conference where you're going to be dealing with the next ten for over the next ten years with Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, Joe Burrow, Lamar Jackson, now C.J. Stroud, Justin Herbert, it's not good enough. Trevor Lawrence, you know, I think you have to take a swing for the fences in this case. And I think if you look at what Drake May is physically versus the other three guys that were available that went in the first round, I don't know that it's that close. Like, I think Drake May is physically superior to those other guys.

Mazz’s Tiers: Most gratifying championships in Boston since 1980
It's time for the latest Mazz's Tiers! Earlier this week, Mazz seemingly kicked a hornet's nest by saying that if the Boston Celtics won the 2024 NBA Championship, it wouldn't be gratifying because the Celtics will have only beat soft teams. Due to that comment, Mazz decided to ranks the Boston Sports Championships since 1980 as most gratifying and least gratifying.
But before the tiers, here's a look at some of the Boston sports championship teams since 1980....
The Boston Red Sox ended an 86 year drought with a four game sweep of the St. Louis Cardinals in the 2004 World Series. They also beat the Cardinals in the 2013 World Series in a six game series. The Red Sox have picked up another two other World Series victories since 1980. In 2007 they swept the Colorado Rockies and in 2018 the defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers in five games.
The Boston Bruins took down the Vancouver Canucks in seven games in 2011 to win their first Stanley Cup since the 1972 Stanley Cup Final.

Since 1980 the New England Patriots won six Super Bowls. Their first came in the 2001 season when they upset the St. Louis Rams. The last of their six came in the 2018 season when they once again defeated the Rams (this time the Rams played in Los Angeles). Head coach Bill Belichick and quarterback Tom Brady led the charge for the Patriots winning all six of their Super Bowls during their run atop the NFL.
The Boston Celtics ended a 22 year championship drought in 2008 when the took down the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2008 NBA Finals. Prior to the 2008 title and since 1980, the Celtics had won three other titles in 1981, 1984, and 1986.
