Maddie Meyer/Getty ImagesCeltics guard Jaylen Brown is in the recovery phase of his trip through the COVID-19 protocol and listed on the opening night roster. But he's still not a lock to actually play in the season opener.
The Celtics have listed Brown as "questionable" for Wednesday's game against the New York Knicks, citing "Post Health & Safety Protocols Recovery" as the reason. Al Horford remains in the protocol, so he's out.
Brown returned a positive test for COVID-19 on Oct. 8, so the season opener will mark a 12-day recovery process for the 2021 All-Star. If he is unable to go Wednesday night, the C's are likely to go with a mix of Marcus Smart, Josh Richardson, and Aaron Nesmith at the 2-guard spot.
