Waived by Boston in July, Yabusele’s departure from Boston came after a Summer League showing that saw the two-year NBA veteran outplayed by several of Boston’s new rookies, as well as some camp invites.
It was perhaps the final nail in the coffin for the Celtics to officially realize that Yabusele, a player with more NBA experience than anybody else on the C’s Summer League squad, was no long for their short or long-term future.
Drafted by the Celtics with the No. 16 overall pick in 2016, Yabusele appeared in just 41 games for the Celtics last season, averaging 2.3 points and 1.3 rebounds in just 6:07 per game.
The 6-foot-8 forward appeared in 74 NBA games over two seasons with the Celtics, averaging 2.3 points per game and shooting 44.2 percent from the field.
