Maddie Meyer/Getty ImagesAccording to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the Boston Celtics, Washington Wizards, and Memphis Grizzlies reached an agreement on a three-team trade. In this trade, center Kristaps Porzingis was sent to the Celtics, guard Marcus Smart was sent to the Grizzlies, and guard Tyus Jones was sent to the Wizards on Wednesday night,

As part of the trade, Memphis will be sending its 25th overall pick in Thursday's draft to Boston, along with the Golden State Warriors' first-round pick in 2024, which is protected for the top four selections. On the other hand, the Celtics will be sending the 35th pick in Thursday's draft and including forward Danilo Gallinari and center Mike Muscala in the trade to Washington. The trade was finalized just before the midnight ET deadline, which required Kristaps Porzingis to opt into his $36 million player option for the 2023-24 season. With the trade completed, Porzingis chose to opt in, according to sources.
