Kristaps Porziņģis’ latest ‘injury scare’ was just a shot to the privates
Kristaps Porziņģis simply can’t be relied upon to stay healthy on a consistent basis. So, when he looks even mildly shaken up, you hold your breath.
Well, the Celtics big man appears to have dodged a bullet, rather than found himself in yet another fresh injury situation. Porzingis was arguably the best player on the floor in the Celtics’ 118-106 win over the Denver Nuggets at Ball Arena, but he also momentarily looked quite shaken up after a play.
Was it his ankle again? Foot? Knee? No, in actuality, it was his … his testicles.
“It was honestly pretty painful, I’m not going to lie,” Porzingis told reporters about the shot to the nether-regions after the game. “But it went away pretty quick. I know I scared everybody, but, all good.”
Porzingis finished the game with 25 points, 11 rebounds, three assists, two steals, and a blocked shot in the victory. As has been the case since he came aboard, when he’s on the floor, Porzingis takes the Celtics to another level of dominance, at both ends of the court. It would’ve been nice to see how he and the C’s fared with Nikola Jokić in the game for the Nuggets, but that will have to wait.
Porzingis was probably wishing he blew out a knee instead for a second there. Might I suggest he wear a cup from now on.
