The men's golf competition at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris gets underway on Thursday at Le Golf National. Here's a look at a few golfers to watch in the upcoming event!
XANDER SCHAUFFELE

The 2020 Summer Olympics gold medalist enters the 2024 event with a lot more hardware in his trophy case. Schauffele won the PGA Championship and The Open Championship in 2024 so he now enters the Olympics as a two-time major winner. In his first start since winning the Claret Jug Schauffele will attempt to defend his gold medal victory from three summers ago.
RORY MCILROY

Rory McIlroy will be taking his second crack at a gold medal in the 2024 event. The Northern Irishman lost out on bronze in the 2020 event after losing in a six man playoff to reach the podium. A lot of eyes have been on McIlroy since his late collapse at the 2024 U.S. Open and it'll be no different this week. Can the four-time major champ add to his already quite large trophy collection?
SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER

You always have to pay attention to the best golfer in the world, especially when it's Scottie Scheffler. Do green and gold mix well? Because Scheffler will be looking to add a gold medal in 2024 to his Green Jacket that he won back in April. The best in the world has also won five more times worldwide to go with his win at The Masters. It's easy to look at him as the favorite going into the event at Le Golf National.
JON RAHM

The Spaniard made all the big news during the winter when he took a big payday to join the LIV Tour. It hadn't been the great year in terms of winning for Rahm in 2024 but he finally found the winners circle last week on the LIV Tour. He'll enter the event as one of the hotter players and will be one of the favorites to take home the gold.
LUDVIG ABERG

There has been a lot of hype around Ludvig Aberg this year and rightfully so. The young Swede found himself in contention in a few majors on the weekend in 2024 but his inexperience in the big ones ultimately led him to come up short. The Olympic field isn't as good as major fields but it still has a lot of big names. If Aberg can come out on top in the Olympics, it could be used as a launching pad for future success in career.
