Patriots’ J.C. Jackson earns first NFL award of career
That’s “award-winning” Patriots cornerback J.C. Jackson to you. Jackson was named the AFC Defensive Player of the Month for November, marking the first monthly/weekly league award of his career.
The 26-year-old played a major role in the Patriots’ 4-0 November, during which they allowed 6.5 points per game. Jackson made four interceptions, one of which he returned 88 yards for a touchdown against the Carolina Panthers. He also forced a fumble for the first time in his career in Week 12, punching the ball out from Titans running back D’Onta Foreman in a key play during the Pats’ 36-13 win over Tennessee.
Jackson joins quarterback Mac Jones as the second Patriot to win a monthly award for the Patriots’ undefeated November. Jones was named AFC Offensive Rookie of the Month.
This marks the third and fourth NFL honors for the Patriots in the 2021 season. Safety Adrian Phillips was named AFC Defensive Player of the Week after a 27-24 win over the Chargers in Week 8, while kicker Nick Folk was named Special Teams Player of the Week for his performance in a win at the Houston Texans in Week 5.
