While the rest of the country seeks a rent freeze from theirs, new Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady has instead acquired a landlord for the first time in well over a decade, as the 42-year-old will reportedly rent Derek Jeter's David Islands mansion.
A 30,000 square foot property, Jeter's mansion comes with seven bedrooms, nine bathrooms. It also includes a billiards room that's wrapped around a pool. Because who doesn't love swimming in between turns during a game of eight-ball? (Sidenote: If your house has more bathrooms than it does bedrooms, congratulations, you're officially rich as hell.)
In addition to being two of the biggest names in sports from their era, Brady and Jeter share a connection as Michigan alums, and it was reported that Brady had dinner with Jeter (along with Bill Gates and Lightning owner Jeff Vinik) the Sunday before Brady became a true free agent and signed his two-year, big-money (and guaranteed) deal with the Bucs.
The Bucs are relying on Brady to snap them out of what has been nearly a decade and a half of futility, with Tampa Bay finishing with losing seasons in eight of their last nine campaigns, and without a playoff appearance since 2007.
