Julian Edelman is a three-time Super Bowl champion, in part because of his own unforgettable heroics. But it wouldn't have been possible without a partnership with Tom Brady, the greatest quarterback of all time. The two have forged a lifelong friendship through their 11 seasons in New England.

But sadly for Edelman, 2019 will go down as their last season together. Brady announced on Tuesday that he is leaving the Patriots and will play football elsewhere in 2020. Edelman, meanwhile, is under contract through 2021. He will likely need to play on with a different quarterback, rather than force a trade to Brady's new team or something silly.

Edelman summed up his strong relationship with Brady in one word in a new tweet on Tuesday: "Family."

Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened.
