(Photo Credit: Trevor Ruszkowski-USA TODAY Sports)It's already known that the Patriots hosted quarterback Lamar Jackson for a pre-draft visit. But a new report suggests that he had not one but two visits with the team, and one of them was a private workout.
SI's Jenny Vrentas tweeted some pre-draft notes on Wednesday, and a pair of them pertain to the Patriots and the constantly percolating reports and rumors surrounding them and the 2016 Heisman Trophy winner. She revealed that Jackson, in addition to a top-30 visit with the Patriots in Foxboro, also worked out in southern Florida with Josh McDaniels.
Vrentas also threw in that Jackson "marveled" at the sight of Bill Belichick laughing.
Ian Rapoport retweeted Vrentas' report with the comment that the Patriots' interest in Jackson is "legit". He'd previously reported that the team was left "intrigued and impressed" after hosting Jackson on his pre-draft visit.
The Patriots have also been described as the NFL team reportedly more interested than any other club in drafting him. But Jackson is still just one of many quarterback prospects whom the Patriots have shown varying levels of interest in ahead of the draft, which starts Thursday night at the Cowboys' AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
