The Patriots placed offensive tackle Yasir Durant on the COVID-reserve list on Wednesday afternoon, as first reported by ESPN's Mike Reiss. Durant was not on the field for practice Wednesday morning.

There are now three Patriots players on COVID-reserve, two coming from the active roster. Durant joins running back J.J. Taylor, who has now missed over two weeks. Tight end Dalton Keene was placed on the list on Monday, although he's already been on season-ending IR since training camp.

Over the past three days there has been a massive spike in COVID cases around the NFL. 31 players were placed on COVID-reserve on Wednesday, following 29 on Tuesday and a single-day record 36 on Monday.

In one other roster move on Wednesday, linebacker Calvin Munson was claimed off waivers by the Miami Dolphins. The Patriots had waived Munson on Tuesday to open up a roster spot to activate rookie safety Joshuah Bledsoe. Munson was originally signed by the Patriots off the Dolphins practice squad in late October and played in six games before being waived, mainly in a special teams role.
