Rafael Devers launched a two-run home run in the eighth inning, and that’s all the offense the Boston Red Sox would need in a 2-0 shutout of the Seattle Mariners at T-Mobile Park.
Boston won mainly on the strength of their pitching staff, which included righty Kutter Crawford making an emergency start in place of the injured Nathan Eovaldi. Crawford pitched five shutout innings, then the bullpen combined to allow just one baserunner over the next four. Tanner Houck picked up the save, his second of the season.
