Mike Reiss: The Krafts should consider KEEPING Bill Belichick as Head Coach
During this morning’s show, ESPN’s Mike Reiss discussed Bill Belichick and his future as the head coach of the New England Patriots and discussed the eventual possibility of Robert Kraft having a conversation with Belichick about the direction of the team. Fred, Wallach and Rochie expressed concerns about the team’s lackluster performance this season and the need for improvement in key areas. There is also speculation about the public perception of the team’s decisions, particularly in the upcoming draft. The discussion touches on whether a mutual separation might be considered and explores the likelihood of Belichick wanting to continue coaching, either with the Patriots or another team. Reiss believes the game hasn’t passed Belichick by. Plus, Reiss believe that the possibility of Belichick’s potential success elsewhere are cited as factors that might influence Kraft’s decision-making.

“Loyalty is one of the most important things to him. At the same time, you know, the results you have to produce, right? And it hasn’t happened. So, I always go back to what he says about the big decisions. He says, ‘Measure nine times and cut once.’ And I do think he would not be human if there wasn’t a part of him that thought, like, maybe we’ve reached the end, you know? Like it’s just run its course. And that would be a normal human thought from him. But I think what would hold him back is the idea of what I’m talking about with Jon. He knows the greatness of Bill and the idea of him going somewhere else and having success is, in my view—and I’m going to assume in his view—a strong likelihood.”
