The Celtics could be without their leading scorer for the immediate future. According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, Jayson Tatum to enter quarantine due to the NBA's COVID-19 health and safety protocols.

Boston already had three players in quarantine before this news. Robert Williams tested positive for COVID last week. Grant Williams and Tristan Thompson were forced to quarantine as well due to contact tracing and their proximity to Williams in the previous days.

Tatum is expected to be out for 10-to-14 days, according to Charania. With the NBA's condensed schedule this season, that means he'll miss 5-to-7 games. The earliest he could return is January 20th, for the first of two consecutive matchups with the Sixers in Philadelphia.

Without Tatum, the Celtics will have to lean heavily on Jaylen Brown. The 24-year-old has taken another sizable leap as he begins his fifth season and early on has been one of the top scorers in the league. Against Washington on Friday night, he posted his second straight double-double.
