Here’s Jarome Iginla being a New Englander like the rest of us

Here’s something you may not know: Hockey Hall of Famer Jarome Iginla, who was only with the Bruins for just one of his 20 NHL seasons, calls Boston home these days. In Chestnut Hill, to be exact.
This isn’t just a part-time situation for the 625-goal scorer, either. He’s here for the long haul. And that means navigating his way through snowstorms like the one that hit all of us in New England on Saturday. A situation that left Iginla traveling around town in rough conditions, and in a TV interview with someone who definitely didn’t realize that they were talking to Jarome Iginla.
Is it just me, or was this Jarome Iginla being interviewed at a rest area during storm coverage and Ch. 25 might not have realized it? @NicoleOliverio pic.twitter.com/F43BCYeqg2

Boston 25 even quoted Iginla in their web story, and in the most casual manner humanly imaginable.
“I like the snow, I like the winter, but not necessarily this,” Iginla told Boston 25. “May be a little too much.
“Pretty tough, we’re from Canada, so it’s not too crazy. I mean we got some winter tires. Used to this growing up so, it’s not great, I’ll tell you, you get some tough stretches, but if you don’t go too fast it’s doable.”
A local TV news station in Boston interviewed Jarome Iginla about a snowstorm without realizing who he was. 😂🌨️

God, I love it.
This isn’t the first time this has happened to a pro athlete. Golden State Warriors superstar Klay Thompson was stopped on the street and asked about scaffolding, and while the news noted that it was NBA player Klay Thompson, Thompson said that the reporter did not know that he was an NBA player upon stopping him. Adrian Peterson was once stopped and asked about road rage, and it wasn’t until they asked for his name at the end of the interview did they realize he was the Adrian Peterson.
Here’s hoping Iginla used his Canadian skills and winter tires to conquer the Boston roads just fine on Saturday.
