On Sunday, Dak Prescott's horrifying ankle injury captivated the sports world. Many basketball fans were immediately reminded of Gordon Hayward's traumatic injury in October 2017.

Tuesday, Hayward himself reached out to the Cowboys quarterback via Twitter.

According to Hayward, it helped hearing from Paul George, who himself suffered a similar incident in 2014. The Celtics forward also offered to be a resource during Prescott's recovery, which is expected to be about four to six months.

Hayward was able to return to form following his injury - he averaged 17.5 points and 6.7 rebounds per game for the Celtics last year. Here's hoping Prescott can have a similar turnaround.
