It hasn’t been confirmed yet, but running back/punt returner Kenjon Barner appears to be back in the mix for the New England Patriots.

Running back Kenjon Barner had a stall back in the New England Patriots locker room on Tuesday, meaning that a move to bring the 29-year-old back seems all but official.

During his one-year run with the Eagles, Barner had 27 punt returns for a total of 240 yards (8.9 yards per return). Barner also came through with three kick returns for 73 yards in the Eagles' Super Bowl LII win over the Patriots.

In a four-year NFL career spent between the Panthers and Eagles, Barner has returned 30 punts for 259 yards.

If indeed signed back to the roster, this will be Barner's second tenure with the Patriots in the last month alone, as the team signed him on Sept. 11 but released him on Sept. 19 in order to sign Cyrus Jones.

Barner's expected return comes two days after running back Rex Burkhead departed New England's Week 3 loss to the Detroit Lions with an apparent neck injury.
