Bill Belichick More Active With Offense

Bill Belichick

Bill Belichick was more involved offensively calling the plays. A lot of the offensive periods down inside, a lot of red zone work, another seven on seven period to the outside. Matt Patricia took the mike the other periods. There was one report that Joe Judge actually called two plays in one period. But I sense a lot of Bill Belichick's influence here in this offensive period now.

Defense Wins Day Two

The defense won the day today. Big day by the defense down and in tight, specifically down inside the ten. Now, I don't know if it was scripted, offensive rollouts, extended plays, but I thought the corners covered up their receivers much better today. There was a stretch where Mac Jones and Bailey Zappe went through ten straight reps of incomplete passes. A big win for the defense today in the red zone.

One big note today, Davon Godchaux got a huge contract extension. The deal is two years, twenty plus million with seventeen point nine guaranteed. That's big for a guy that Bill Belichick called one of the best defensive linemen in a National Football League in his press conference prior to practice. That's high praise from a defensive minded head coach.
