Mac Jones was benched after the interception ended a drive that was seemingly headed in the direction of the Patriots putting some points on the board. But did something happen during that play that should’ve blown it dead?
Doug Kyed, the NFL reporter for Pro Football Focus, posted a video of the interception. in slow motion, it appears the ball might have touched one of the wires supporting SkyCam before safety Jaquan Brisker pulled it down with one hand.
A Bills fan here found that Mac Jones' interception might have hit the SkyCam wire. I slowed the video down as much as possible. Also not sure how much it actually affected things if it did hit the wire, but it's interesting. https://t.co/4MMgfftt6m pic.twitter.com/OLMpgnsmLg
— Doug Kyed (@DougKyed) October 25, 2022Jones played the Patriots’ first three possessions on Monday night after missing the previous three games because of an ankle injury. Bailey Zappe went the rest of the way at quarterback for New England after Mac Jones was benched following the interception in question. Bill Belichick said the former Alabama All-American was not benched.
The Patriots lost to the Bears, 33-14.
