  • As the Patriots prepare for a must-win game against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday, they were significantly shorthanded at practice. Seven players didn’t take part in Wednesday’s session, while another five were limited.

Of those 12 players listed, four are new additions after not appearing on the report last week. Tight end Jonnu Smith and cornerback Marcus Jones both are now in concussion protocol, putting their statuses for Sunday in doubt. Special teamer Matthew Slater also didn’t practice having been given a veteran rest day.

  • Wide receiver DeVante Parker (concussion), tackle Yodny Cajuste (illness), and cornerbacks Jack Jones (knee) and Jalen Mills (groin) made up the other DNPs. Parker, Jones, and Mills are all inactive last week while Cajuste was active but played just four snaps.

The other new addition to the injury report is tight end Hunter Henry (knee), who was limited. Henry was injured early in Saturday’s game after coliding with Smith.

Running backs Rhamondre Stevenson (ankle) and Damien Harris (thigh), and wide receiver Tyquan Thornton (knee) were the other limited players. Harris hasn’t played since Week 12, while Stevenson and Thornton were active last week.

The Dolphins turned in a lengthy injury report as well. They have 13 players listed on Wednesday, including eight non-participants. Highlighting the list is quarterback Tua Tagovailoa (concussion) who has already reportedly been ruled out for Sunday. Backup Teddy Bridgewater (knee) is also listed, but was a full participant on Wednesday. Starting left tackle Terron Armstead (toe/pec/knee/hip) and linebacker Bradley Chubb (ankle/hand) also didn’t practice.
