Tuesday afternoon, Major League Baseball gave the first update on the 2022 All-Star voting since the ballots opened up two weeks ago. The numbers included the leaguing vote-getter at each position for both the American and National Leagues.
The Red Sox currently have one player sitting at the top of his position – third baseman Rafael Devers. As of the latest calculation, Devers has 727,669 votes which is the second-most by any AL infielder.
These new numbers also highlight just how competitive the AL East has been this year. Six of the nine leading vote-getters in the American League play for AL East teams – four from the Blue Jays, one from the Yankees, and then Devers.
