Patriots still missing key defensive playmakers at practice
October 27th, 2022
It’s starting to look more and more like the Patriots could be shorthanded in terms of playmakers Sunday in New York. Thursday’s injury report showed three starters missed practice for the second day in a row as the team prepares to take on the Jets.
On the defensive side of the ball, defensive lineman Christian Barmore (knee) and safety Kyle Dugger (ankle) both were listed as non-participants on Thursday. Barmore missed Monday night’s game against the Bears, while Dugger was hurt during the game. Dugger has previously missed time this year with a knee injury.
Seven players were also limited for the Patriots, as was the case on Wednesday. That group includes wide receivers Nelson Agholor (hamstring) and Kendrick Bourne (toe), as well as tackle Isaiah Wynn (shoulder). All three of those players have been in the spotlight this week as their names have surfaced in trade rumors.
The rest of the limited players on the Patriots’ side are guard Michael Onwenu (ankle), linebackers Anfernee Jennings (calf) and Josh Uche (hamstring), cornerback Jonathan Jones (ankle), and safety Adrian Phillips (shoulder). No players were removed from the report.
On the Jets’ side of things, defensive end John Franklin-Myers (illness) and linebacker Quincy Williams (ankle) both returned to practice after missing Wednesday and were listed as full participants. Wide receiver Corey Davis (knee) was the only player to sit out.
