New England Patriots

  • A roller coaster week for the Patriots injury-wise ends on a high note. The status of starting quarterback Mac Jones has been at the forefront given his back injury in Week 1, and the fact he missed practice Thursday with an injury. However, Jones was back at practice and a full participant on Friday, and has been removed from the team’s injury report heading into Sunday’s game against the Steelers.

Jones wasn’t the only player removed from the list on Friday. The Patriots also took off linebacker Ja’Whaun Bentley, who didn’t practice on Wednesday due to a toe injury. Bentley has been back at practice since.

  • The Patriots do have six players remaining on the injury report. All six were limited on Friday and listed as questionable for the game on Sunday. Safety Adrian Phillips (ribs) highlights that group after he left last week’s game early.

Linebacker Raekwon McMillan (thumb) was added to the injury report on Friday and is also questionable. The other players on the list are running back Pierre Strong Jr. (shoulder), tackle Trent Brown (ankle), cornerback Shaun Wade (ankle), and safety Joshuah Bledsoe (groin).

Meanwhile the Steelers turned in a blank injury report on Friday, with no players being given a game status. Running back Najee Harris (foot), center Mason Cole (ankle), linebacker Rob Spillane (eye), and cornerback Levi Wallace (ankle) were all full participants on Friday and removed from the report after appearing earlier in the week.
