New England Patriots

  • One of the main points of the NFL bye week is to allow teams to get healthy. Based on Wednesday’s injury report – the Patriots’ first since their week off – it appears they took advantage of that opportunity.

Five players who appeared on the injury report two weeks ago are not listed to start this week. That group is running backs Damien Harris and Pierre Strong Jr., center David Andrews, defensive end Deatrich Wise, and cornerback Jack Jones.

  • Seven players are on the injury report to begin Week 11. Of those seven, only one was a non-participant in practice on Wednesday – rookie defensive lineman DaMarcus Mitchell (rookie).

Of the six players that were limited, two weren’t on the injury report prior to the bye. Linebacker Anfernee Jennings (back) and punter Jake Bailey (back) have both been added for this week.

  • Wide receiver DeVante Parker (knee), defensive lineman Christian Barmore (knee), linebacker Josh Uche (hamstring), and safety Kyle Dugger (ankle) remain on the injury report from last week. Parker and Barmore both missed the Patriots’ last game against the Colts.

The Patriots also filled out their practice squad on Wednesday. After opening up a spot by waiving Lil’Jordan Humphrey on Monday, the team signed tackle Hunter Thedford. In college and last year in the USFL Thedford played tight end, but put on 60 pounds over the last six months according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero. The Patriots also hosted offensive tackle Sage Doxtater for a free agent workout, per ESPN’s Mike Reiss.

As for the Jets, wide receiver Corey Davis (knee), guard Nate Herbig (shin), and defensive tackle Sheldon Rankins (elbow) all missed practice on Wednesday. Tackle Duane Brown (shoulder) was limited.
