New England Patriots

  • After not elevating any players from the practice squad last week, the Patriots are adding one practice squad player to the active roster this week for their home-opener against the Ravens. On Saturday, the team announced linebacker Harvey Langi will be elevated for the game.

This is the second elevation of the season for Langi. He was also added to the roster for the season opener against Miami, and played one special teams snap in that game. The team can elevate him one more time this season.

  • Last season, Langi appeared in seven games for the Patriots. He recorded three tackles while playing mostly on special teams.

In addition to filling a special teams role, Langi will add some depth for the Patriots at linebacker. Raekwon McMillan, who was limited in last week’s game, is questionable for Sunday with a thumb injury. McMillan didn’t practice on Friday.

As for the Ravens, they announced they’re elevating wide receiver Raleigh Webb and linebacker Brandon Copeland for the game. It’s the second elevation of the year for Webb and the first for Copeland, who signed with Baltimore earlier this week. Copeland spent the 2020 season with the Patriots, and played in six games that season before suffering a season-ending pectoral injury.

All elevated practice squad players return to the practice squad the day after the game. Teams can elevate up to two players each week, with each player on the practice squad being limited to three elevations during the season.
