On Thursday’s edition of Zolak & Bertrand, Beetle made it clear that the Patriots just being competitive is useless.

  • Patriots never win these big games anymore...

Marc Bertrand: We’re also at a point now where being competitive, as we mentioned yesterday, is useless. Being competitive when you never win these games is without purpose.

T-Bone: Be competitive in week one. Not when you’re making a playoff push.

Marc Bertrand: Well be competitive and win some of those games and have them be 50/50 type outcomes. They’re not 50/50 outcomes when the Patriots are competitive like that. With good teams, they lose. They lose to good teams. They give up points. They lose. They can’t and I say give up points, meaning that’s one of the, you know, statistical determinations in this, they give up more than 20 points and they’re in trouble. That’s not to say the defense is bad. That’s to say they can’t keep up. Patriots go down10-0 nothing tonight is the game over? Yep. Seal the deal. Good night. Everyone head home. Beat the traffic.

    Scott Zolak: Seal It.

Marc Bertrand: They can’t play from two scores behind against a good team. They can’t do it.

Scott Zolak: It’s tough to play from three behind.

Marc Bertrand: So that’s we’re going to find out, are you any better tonight? Are you going to force Buffalo to punt? Are you gonna slow down Josh Allen? Are you going to take advantage of whatever throws he’s incapable of making at the moment, despite being a full participant in practice this week and apparently fine and good to go. I know they’re ripe for the picking. I know they’re catching Buffalo at the right time.
