We are three weeks into the 2023 season, and in the NFL, things tend to follow a wave-like pattern. Some players start hot, while others don’t make an impact until later in the season. In this article, we will explore potential waiver wire claims and players worth keeping an eye on, starting with Week 4 waiver wire targets.

During Week 3 of the 2023 NFL season, fantasy football managers witnessed some outstanding performances. Justin Herbert had an impressive game, amassing 29.3 fantasy points despite facing the relentless Minnesota Vikings defense, which blitzed 82% of the time. Davante Adams showcased his status as a top receiver, scoring 42.2 fantasy points against the Pittsburgh Steelers. In a surprising turn of events, rookie tight end Sam LaPorta outperformed the veteran Travis Kelce, recording 22.4 fantasy points.

Specifically, we’ll focus on a rookie running back in Miami who has made his first significant impact this year.the true stars of the week were the two Miami Dolphins running backs, Raheem Mostert and De’Von Achane. They delivered an extraordinary performance against the Denver Broncos, becoming only the second pair of teammates in NFL history to score four touchdowns each in a single game.

Given this remarkable performance, De’Von Achane should be your top priority on the waiver wire this week. The Miami Dolphins’ offense has been highly productive, averaging 8.4 yards per play, with 30.5% of their offensive plays gaining 10 or more yards. Additionally, Miami’s offensive line ranks 13th in run block win rate. Considering Raheem Mostert’s injury history, it would be prudent to actively involve Achane in the backfield, as he has the potential to make a significant impact on your fantasy team.

WEEK 4 WAIVER WIRE TARGETS:

  • De'von Achane (RB - MIA)

De’von Achane had 18 carries for 203 yards and 2 touchdowns. He added 4 catches for 30 yards and two more touchdowns. It’s unlikely he’ll have another day like this, but he should be an important piece of the Dolphins’ offense for the rest of the year. Given Raheem Mostert’s history of injuries, Achane is a good flex option with the potential to become a starter.

  • Quentin Johnson (WR - LAC)

Quentin Johnson will see an expanded role in the Chargers’ offense with Mike Williams out for the year due to an ACL injury. Williams is known as a deep threat and a boom-or-bust candidate, making him best suited for filling in for injuries and bye weeks on your roster. Los Angeles drafted Johnson in the first round to make an impact, and they’ll want to see what he can do. Teammate Jessie Palmer will also have a larger role, and both players have value. If Johnson doesn’t produce, Palmer could be a valuable addition to your team.

  • Cleveland Browns DST

The Cleveland Browns’ defense faces Baltimore at home this week. Cleveland has already recorded nine sacks this year, while Baltimore hasn’t shown much in the passing game, ranking 24th in passing yards with an average of 190 yards per game. This should be a low-scoring game, making Cleveland a great streaming option for Week 4.

  • Jalin Hyatt (WR - NYG)

The Giants drafted Jalin Hyatt in the third round, and he possesses exceptional speed. It’s time for the Giants’ stagnant offense to unleash him. Seattle has statistically struggled against the pass in the first three weeks. In Week two against Arizona, Hyatt had two receptions for 89 yards, but he didn’t see any targets in the game against the 49ers. On Monday night at home, Hyatt could have a breakout game, so pick him up before he does. However, if Hyatt’s snap count doesn’t increase, it could signal that he isn’t yet ready to contribute full-time as a rookie.
