Tom Brady announced his retirement from professional football Wednesday morning, via social media, after 23 seasons in the National Football League.

Brady won seven Super Bowls and holds a plethora of NFL passing records. In a video shared to Brady’s social media accounts, the greatest of all time states his career is done “for good” this time.

Boston Celtics interim head coach Joe Mazzulla shared his thoughts on the future Hall of Fame quarterback Wednesday on the Zolak & Bertrand radio program.

    “I just loved his mindset and his overall approach to the game of football, to his life, and to the detailed process that he had. I love the way he carried himself on the field through pressure situations. I think much of that had to do with his training and his ability to execute under any circumstance.

    “He’s done a lot for this area. It’s cool to have been able to see that since I was a kid. And, it’s kind of cool to see the end of [his career] because it’s a humbling experience.

    “At the end of the day, no matter how hard you work or what you do, there’s always a moment when you have to step away and step into a different arena. I’ll remember that the most.”

  • Mazzulla Local Ties

    Joe Mazzulla, a New England native, was born and raised in Rhode Island. His father, Dan, played college basketball at Bryant University in Smithfield, R.I. His brother, Justin, played college ball at the University of Vermont and is currently a graduate assistant at the University of Rhode Island.

    With no shortage of local ties, Mazzulla was happy to share this thoughts on Brady’s time in New England.

    Also, coach Mazzulla gives Bertrand, Hardy and Joe Murray a status update on the Celtics during Wednesday’s program.
