Bruins head coach Jim Montgomery is being recognized by the NHL for Boston’s incredible first season with him behind the bench.
The NHL officially announced Wednesday that Montgomery is one of four head coaches to lead each team in the 2023 NHL All-Star Game. Montgomery will coach, of course, the Atlantic Division. Montgomery joins goaltender Linus Ullmark as the second Bruins representative at the game, which takes place at FLA Live Arena on Saturday, Feb. 4.

Two skaters and a goaltender will be added to each division team at the All-Star Game. Bruins winger David Pastrnak, who is second in the NHL to only Connor McDavid with 32 goals and tied for fourth in the league with 58 points, should get a lot of votes toward an All-Star nod.
Montgomery was the single biggest change the Bruins made prior to the 2022-23 season. So far, it’s paid off tremendously. The Bruins have by far the NHL’s best record at 32-4-4, and their 68 points are 11 ahead of the second-place Toronto Maple Leafs.
