Felger & Mazz

Greg Bedard of BostonSportsJournal.com joined the Felger and Mazz program on Tuesday following the New England Patriots win over the New York Jets. While on, Bedard did his weekly “10 Questions” segment following week 3 of the 2023 NFL season.

The 10 Questions

 10. What are your thoughts on Josh McDaniel kicking the field goal late on Sunday vs. the Steelers instead of going for it on fourth-and-4?

Greg Bedard: I understand the thinking. I don’t disagree with it especially when considering the penalty on the first two point try, even if they scored they would have had to basically run three different 2-point plays. And I don’t like the percentages of having to score 8 and 8. I don’t think the percentages are very good. But his defense is not good enough to think that they’re going to hold up against anybody in crunch time. So I disagree with it.

   9. Is my priapism over Jordan Love and the Packers new era justified?

Greg Bedard: No, it’s three games in the season. Settle down, buddy.

Felger: Have you watched any of it?

Greg Bedard: Not really.

8. Another analytics question…in that Packers game Green Bay was down 14. They scored the first touchdown and they went for two on that first touchdown. It ended up working. How do you feel about that strategy?

Greg Bedard: I didn’t see the game.

7. Dolphins vs Bills. This week and going forward. Who you got?

Greg Bedard: I like the Bills this week with no Jalen ramsey for Miami. But I like the Dolphins overall against the Bills.

Miami

  • 6. Who should Justin Fields play for next season? Who should Zach Wilson play for next season?

Greg Bedard: Justin Fields should be a receiver for the Patriots. Zach Wilson should retire it’s over. But, unpopular opinion I still think if Zach Wilson went someplace with a good coach and good quarterback and sat for three years, like Aaron Rodgers or Jordan Love, I think he would have had a chance.

       5. Do you, or did you ever, like the Dallas Cowboys? Or are they a bunch of toolbags?

Greg Bedard: I never liked them. Bunch of toolbags throughout history.

      4. Would you want Jerry Jones as an owner?

Greg Bedard: Nope, I don’t want an owner anywhere near football decisions and he’s right up in it.

    3. Who is your favorite and least favorite Cowboy of all time?

Greg Bedard: Tony Dorsett (favorite) and Terrell Owens (least favorite) is my answer on any team he’s ever been on.

  • Taylor Swift

    2. If you could play for one NFL team, which one would it be? What uniform and helmet do you most want to wear?

Greg Bedard: The Raiders and that they’re in Vegas and their whole facility. Everything out there.

1.Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce. Cool or annoying?

    Greg Bedard: Completely annoying.

    Felger: Give me more.

Greg Bedard: Well, mostly it it’s the whole social media football thing. Like all these media, every single media outlet runs it because Taylor Swift means engagement and clicks. So like, they just go over the top and blow it completely out of proportion. Where it’s all over your social media feeds, you can’t get away from it. So I’m sick of it.
